Roy Cooper Arrives in Southern Pines Two Weeks Late for Drag Show

Roy Cooper made his way to Southern Pines this week and created quite the buzz around town when the Queen Bee made rounds visiting local shops.  Seen shopping, he was approached by many reporters asking what brought him to the small town.  “I am here to see a friend from college”, he told cameras while holding up a dress at a local boutique.  He said his final stop would be at the Sunshine Theater to see a show produced by a college friend, Naomi Dix.  “Naomi and I met in Chapel Hill while I was in college on a Morehead Scholarship, something Naomi mentioned being familiar with.” One reporter stated that the show had already happened a couple of weeks prior, ending early due to the widespread power outage.  Cooper made a pouty face and said that he hates he missed the show.  Soon after he lit up with excitement and said, “I guess that means more time for shopping.  Power or no power I’m ready to turn it on!”
